Who sees what
Plain facts about who can see this route and who holds your money along the way, with sources. Every route involves some trade-off.
- Who can see it
- The chain you pay from is public, and the ZEC arrives on a public transparent address. SimpleSwap sees the amounts and both addresses. Its terms forbid using tools that hide your IP address.
- Who holds your funds
- You send coins to SimpleSwap's deposit address. It trades through liquidity providers and sends the ZEC to your address.
- Identity checks
- Most swaps need no account. Its AML/KYC terms (30 Oct 2025) say the no-KYC approach applies only to low-risk swaps. Flagged swaps get a client check that can ask for ID and whether you are a politically exposed person. kycnot.me (community listing): KYC level 3.
- Compliance screening
- Swaps go through monitoring and can show the status 'Verifying'. SimpleSwap can temporarily freeze a transaction during a review.
