On changenow.io, choose your coin under You Send and ZEC on the Zcash network (not BSC) under You Get, then enter an amount.
If you want to lock the amount you receive, turn on Fixed rate mode. Then press Swap.
Paste a transparent (t1) Zcash address from your wallet. ChangeNOW's address check rejects shielded and unified addresses.
Send your coins to the deposit address shown.
When the ZEC arrives, shield it in your wallet.

Who can see it: The chain you pay from is public. The ZEC lands on a transparent address, which is also public until you shield it. ChangeNOW sees the amounts and both addresses, and its terms say it can collect your IP address.
Who holds your funds: You send coins to ChangeNOW's deposit address and rely on it to send the ZEC. Its terms allow it to freeze a swap during checks and move frozen funds to cold storage.
Identity checks: No account by default. A swap flagged by its risk system is stopped for an ID check with a 3-day window. You can refuse and get a refund, unless the swap is suspected of illegal activity. ID is mandatory for residents of several countries. kycnot.me (community listing): KYC level 3.
Compliance screening: A risk-management system flags swaps for AML/KYC checks. If you refuse the check, ChangeNOW can decline your current and future swaps. Its terms say it may seize funds from users in prohibited jurisdictions.

ChangeNOW's terms (updated 18 Sep 2026) require an ID check before use for residents of the EU, the US, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE, Australia and Canada.
The same terms bar people located in or resident in the UK, the US, India and Russia from the accountless service.
ChangeNOW says swaps average about 1 minute. On 2 Oct 2026 Trocador's ETA for a ChangeNOW BTC to ZEC swap was 14 minutes.
